Oh Those Power Outages!!!!

by

There’s some construction going on at the corner of Howe and Hallmark lately that has been causing all kinds of problems for local businesses. I work at Best Western and the construction crew has been doing all kinds of damage to us in particular. They hit a power line or something the other day and of course the power was off for like six hours while SMUD was fixing it!!!! We had a conference meeting that day for the Department of Health Services and they were understandably unhappy to be holding their meeting in the dark without air conditioning. In addition, many guests did not want to check in without electricity. Then, two days ago they did something similar and knocked out our voicemail. The guest phones haven’t been working properly since and it took forever to get our voicemail back up and running. I know that many other businesses have also been affected including Outback Steakhouse, Verizon, Audio FX, and Saigon Bay. Anyway, I was curious to know if there’s a way to collect back the money that we all lost from their mistakes. I’d love to relay any advice to my manager…

I doubt there is anything you can do. In life sometimes “Stuff Happens” (insert whatever word you deem proper there hehe). Good luck with that though!

About Sacramento, CA

After all, it wasn't a very apt name for a lively, growing mining town where gambling and saloons where the status quo. Perhaps to gain a modicum of respect, they paid California $1 million in 1854 in order to become the State Capitol. In the years since, it has evolved from a little mining town into a bustling city full of people from every culture and every walk of life. In addition, our status as the most ethically diverse city in America also means that we have something for everyone to do. There are numerous ethnic restaurants, tons of museums, and countess festivals in historic Old Sacramento that make the city an excellent place to visit and an even better place to live...
